Higher Sewage Numbers In San Diego Bay, Officials SayKGTV-TV News 10 (San Diego, CA) November 21, 2006 Navy officials Tuesday upped the estimated amount of sewage that was unintentionally discharged into San Diego Bay over the past two years due to an improperly connected pipe at Naval Base San Diego. According to Navy Region Southwest, about 14 million gallons of sewage went into the bay over a two-year period -- up from the 10.25 million gallons the military reported when the problem was discovered on Friday. According to Navy officials, a sewage pipe was improperly connected to a storm drain that empties into the bay during construction of the 1,032-bed, 12-story Palmer Hall Barracks in 2004. ...
