Firm using hazardous material faces 1 hurdle to new permitBLAKE MORLOCK Tucson Citizen December 6, 2006 A Tucson manufacturer that works with a known hazardous material has one last hurdle to clear before it can get a new air quality permit. On Nov. 8, Pima County granted Brush Ceramic Products, 6100 S. Tucson Blvd., a permit to use a new venting system that will cut down on emissions of beryllium - a metal used to manufacture high-tech products. The Tucson-based Environmental Justice Action Group and Center for Environmental Connections filed an appeal, calling the permit too lenient. ...
