Army moves to oust RDX By AMANDA LEHMERT Cape Cod Times (MA) January 29, 2007SANDWICH - Army officials plan to use a small, portable groundwater treatment system to clean explosives flowing under the ground toward Sandwich, they announced last week. The plume of Royal Demolition Explosives, or RDX, up to 290 parts per billion in preliminary results, was discovered along the boundary of the Massachusetts Military Reservation and the town of Sandwich in summer 2005. Army leaders want to move a portable treatment system from one base plume to this plume at the end of May, Army Groundwater Study Program head Kent "Hap" Gonser said. ...
