EPA prepares to lift lead ammo ban By Amanda Lehmert Cape Cod Times (MA) June 21, 2007BOURNE - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency officials are ready to allow a temporary suspension of the lead ammunition ban at Camp Edwards - pending last-minute suggestions or comments from Cape residents. Last night, as EPA officials kicked off a two-week public comment period on the Massachusetts National Guard's request to use lead ammo at the base, some residents urged regulators to carefully watch how the military uses lead ammunition during a 17-month trial period that could start in August. "We will definitely be back a year from now saying what worked and what didn't work," the EPA's Lynne Jennings told Cape residents last night at the Bourne Best Western. ...
