Cardin Swings South On Visit With Hoyer By Philip Rucker Washington Post July 5, 2007U.S. Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin and House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer swept through Southern Maryland on Monday, trumpeting their commitment to the area's two military bases and broader economic development initiatives. ...Earlier this year, the St. Mary's County government entered into an agreement with the Navy giving the military the authority to review all development proposals in the vicinity of its operations in Lexington Park and St. Inigoes. In Charles County, the Indian Head base is outside the county's development district, which includes nearby Waldorf and Bryans Road.
