Falmouth officials weigh plume cleanup options By Amanda Lehmert Cape Cod Times (MA) July 26, 2007FALMOUTH - Environmental regulators want to clean it. The Air Force wants it to slowly drift away. And Falmouth leaders want more information.The months of debate over what to do with the southernmost portion of the Ashumet Valley toxic solvent plume hit another snag yesterday, as Falmouth officials said they wanted to know how different treatment options would affect their plans to possibly use the town-owned golf course to inject treated wastewater back into the ground. Town officials are concerned that, after months of considering the best treatment options for the underground solvent plume, their wastewater planning efforts had not been considered by the Air Force or U.S. Environmental Protection Agency officials. ...
