Special Waste at Middle Point

Middle Point Landfill may no longer accept low-level radioactive waste, 
but it still accepts 167 special wastes.

"I think that the radioactive waste was just the tip of the toxic 
iceberg," said Kathleen Ferris of Citizens to End Nuclear Dumping in 
Tennessee (ENDIT). "We need to find out what else is going in there."

Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation released a list of 
the special wastes Middle Point is approved to accept.

ENDIT is concerned about the special wastes from Arnold Engineering 
Development Center (AEDC) in Tullahoma.
