Searching for bombs could be a city rule Orlando considers the safety of building near the old Pinecastle range. Mark Schlueb Orlando Sentinel (FL) October 30, 2007Orlando planners are accustomed to dealing with wetlands, roads and other development issues, but figuring out what to do about 60-year-old bombs and rockets may take a few months. Mayor Buddy Dyer and city commissioners decided Monday that it's time to come up with development rules for the land that used to be part of the World War II-era Pinecastle Jeep Bombing Range. Odyssey Middle School and some homes in the Vista Lakes and Tivoli Gardens neighborhoods were built atop the former 12,483-acre practice range before developers and local officials knew it existed. ...
