Hills voters say no to $3 million municipal water system By Rachel Gallegos Iowa City Press-Citizen November 7, 2007Hills voters rejected an estimated $3 million water system solution Tuesday to provide perchlorate-free water to all of the town's residents. Unofficial poll results show 66 percent of voters, or 195 people, rejected the water plan. Thirty-four percent of people, or 99 voters, approved it. ...Although the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ordered the town in 2006 to establish a solution, "the EPA didn't ask for a huge water system," Cook said.
