Concerns voiced at Joint Land Use Study meeting

Sam MacMaster remembers when he first participated in training at the 
Army's Armor Center at Fort Knox, Ky., in 1992.

"We don't want to become another Fort Knox," MacMaster told a crowd of 
more than 150 people gathered at the Enterprise Civic Center Monday 
night to discuss how Fort Rucker, Enterprise and the post's other 
surrounding communities can live and grow together in harmony.

The meeting with city leaders, developers, business people, retirees, 
neighborhood residents, landowners and others interested in the joint 
welfare of the civilian and military communities was hosted by the 
Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission, which is 
administering a Joint Land Use Study.
