Cape Lighthouse Closed For Lead Contamination WESH TV-2 News (Orlando, FL) January 12, 2008 CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- The historic Cape Canaveral lighthouse is off-limits and everyone who's visited over the decades could have been exposed to contamination. The danger, officials said, is lead poisoning, WESH 2 News reported. For that reason, no one is allowed near the lighthouse, even though its beacon is still flashing. You can see it for miles, but you can't walk on its grounds anymore, but the problem is, a lot of people already have. ...
