Crisostimo clarifies FDM letter By By Junhan B. Todeno Marianas Variety (Northern Marianas) March 6, 2008 SENATOR Luis P. Crisostimo yesterday said his letter to the Agency for Toxic and Substances and Disease Registry never asked the U.S. military to stop its bombing practice operation on Farallon de Mendinilla. "We just want to make sure that what fell down and contaminated the environment would be contained," Crisostimo, D-Saipan, said. He said if the live-fire bombings on FDM continue, the northern island will eventually lose at least 50 percent of the fish supply in the area because of water contamination. Crisostimo also dismissed Senate President Pete P. Reyes' fear that his letter might impact the economy of the CNMI. ...
