EPA releases North Ridge asbestos report By Emily Wood KDRV TV-12 News (Medford, OR) June 19, 2008KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- The Environmental Protection Agency released a feasibility report this week describing a wide range of possible asbestos clean-up options for the North Ridge Estates site located about three miles north of Klamath Falls. In the 1940's the U.S. Navy constructed a Marine Barracks on the land, and asbestos was used to build 80 buildings. In the 1970's those buildings were demolished, and the North Ridge Estates, a residential housing subdivision, was constructed. Since that time both the Department of Environmental Quality and the EPA have worked to completely remove the asbestos from the area. ...
