Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] REUSE: Ingleside Naval Station (TX) redevelopment authorities |
Group now cooperating on Navy base plans By Mary Ann Cavazos, Fanny S. Chirinos Corpus Christi Caller-Times (TX) August 6, 2008Groups that have disagreed on how to prepare for the closure of Naval Station Ingleside are cooperating now, said a consultant for one of those groups, the Ingleside Local Redevelopment Authority. Officials from New Hampshire-based RKG Associates Inc., consultants for the redevelopment group, have found a spirit of cooperation as they conducted studies and compiled data such as local labor and market trends from community leaders, real estate brokers and work force development agencies, the consultant said. The authority, charged with developing a reuse plan for 155 surplus acres of the base known as the Electromagnetic Roll Facility, hired the consultants in June. The other 912 acres that make up the base will revert to the Port of Corpus Christi when the Navy leaves. Port officials have hired Federal Ingleside, a subsidiary of Federal Development, as master developer of that land and of 433 acres adjacent to it. ...
