Army successfully burns 1,200 acres

The Army set fire to 1,200 acres of a practice range at Schofield 
Barracks today to help control the outbreaks of potentially damaging 
wildfires.

Army fire and safety specialists, in coordination with the Federal Fire 
Department, conducted the prescribed burn at an impact site north of 
Kolekole and Trimble roads and west of the military housing at Maile 
Terrace, Kolekole Ridge and Hendrickson Heights.
