Fort Drum to Reactivate Drinking Water Production Wells WWNY TV News September 4, 2008Fort Drum plans to put six drinking water production wells back into service if it gets the okay from the State Health Department. In 2006, a dozen wells near Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield were shut down after a fuel leak was discovered. Since then, Fort Drum has been getting its drinking water from the civilian community. According to Fort Drum, studies show six of the wells are safe. ...
