Hunters at risk on off-limits Camp Williams By Stephen Speckman Deseret News (UT) October 25, 2008The evidence is red: Trespassers or poachers leave behind blood or entrails from gutted deer they shot while illegally hunting on parts of the government-owned 27,000 acres known as Camp Williams. With Utah's deer hunt in its waning days, camp officials are trying to spread the word that it's not only against the law to use their property for hunting, it's also dangerous. "There's unexploded ordnance on Camp Williams," said Capt. Todd Christensen, operations officer at the camp. People are accidentally or deliberately walking and driving onto property that for over 80 years has been used as a training base for all branches of the military. ...
