Airport redevelopment stalls Operator hired for Brunswick airfield, but environmental study lags By Seth Koenig Brunswick Times Record (ME) January 20, 2010BATH - The panel in charge of the civilian redevelopment of Brunswick Naval Air Station on Tuesday chose a company to offer fuel and aircraft maintenance on the base, but only after learning its plans for a civilian airport have been dealt a setback. The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority board of directors Tuesday voted unanimously to authorize Executive Director Steve Levesque to negotiate and enter into a contract with FlightLevel Aviation to become the Brunswick airfield's resident fixed base operator. The decision to tap Norwood, Mass.-based FlightLevel Aviation to manage refueling, maintenance and aircraft services after the Navy surrenders the airfield for civilian reuse marked a milestone in the board's efforts to establish a civilian airport in Brunswick. ...
