Survey seeks out contaminants
Firm needs landowners' permission to collect soil samples

This map shows where the former Kingman Ground-to-Ground Gunnery Range 
for the Kingman Army Air Force Base was located. The Army Corps of 
Engineers and HydroGeoLogic, Inc. are trying to contact property owners 
in the area to get permission to collect soil samples.

The Army Corps of Engineers held a public meeting Tuesday night about 
the former Kingman Ground-to-Ground Gunnery Range. The Corps is seeking 
permission from landowners to take soil samples from properties within 
the former range as part of its Formerly Used Defense Site Military 
Munitions Response Program.

The program identifies former military sites across the nation that may 
still have some form of military munitions such as bombs or bullets. The 
Corps studies the site to see if there is any soil contamination and 
then determines the best course of action.
