EPA cites West Point for poor monitoring of underground gas tanks By Adam Bosch Middletown Times Herald-Record (NY) February 24, 2010WEST POINT — The Environmental Protection Agency is seeking a $167,116 civil penalty against the U.S. Army and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service for their failure to properly monitor underground petroleum tanks at West Point. The EPA said those groups failed to comply with five federal laws that govern the safety of underground tanks that store diesel fuel, gas and used oil at the West Point Garrison. None of those tanks was leaking, the EPA said. ...
