at Annual Technical Symposium & Workshop

CALL FOR POSTER ABSTRACTS

The Partners in Environmental Technology Technical Symposium & Workshop
will take place November 30-December 2, 2010 in Washington, D.C. This
event is sponsored by the Strategic Environmental Research and
Development Program (SERDP

the Department of Defense’s (DoD) environmental science and technology
program, and the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program
(ESTCP

DoD's environmental technology demonstration and validation program.

Attendees will have numerous opportunities to network with approximately
1,100 environmental professionals from the defense user and regulatory
communities. The comprehensive technical program will feature 14
technical sessions and three short courses. Technical sessions will
highlight research and innovative technologies that assist DoD in
addressing environmental and mission sustainability challenges. Short
courses will provide training opportunities on select technologies and
methods in environmental restoration and munitions response.

SYMPOSIUM HIGHLIGHTS

EXHIBIT HALL:  This year’s Symposium & Workshop will once again feature
the highly successful poster sessions and exhibit booths showcasing
technologies and scientific advancements from a variety of environmental
research programs. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn
first-hand about ongoing and recently completed SERDP research projects
and ESTCP technology demonstrations. Those wishing to be considered to
present a poster in the Exhibit Hall must submit an abstract no later

PLENARY SESSION and PROJECT-OF-THE-YEAR AWARDS:  The opening Plenary
Session will feature keynote speakers who will address emerging
environmental challenges facing DoD. SERDP and ESTCP Principal
Investigators who have helped DoD achieve its mission while improving
its environmental performance will be honored as the annual
Project-of-the-Year Awards are announced.

TECHNICAL SESSIONS AND SHORT COURSES:  A comprehensive technical program
consisting of concurrent technical sessions (TS) and short courses (SC)
covering a variety of scientific and technical subjects will follow the
Plenary Session. Professional Development Hours (PDH) will be offered
for short courses. Attendance for these courses will be limited, and
space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore,
registration for each short course is required. Registration will be
available beginning no later than July 21. Below is the schedule for

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN SERDP AND ESTCP:  During the Symposium &
Workshop, the Executive Director of SERDP and ESTCP will host a special
session to provide a summary of program initiatives and opportunities
for interested scientists to conduct research and technology demonstrations.
