Salazar wants Army activities investigated

Congressman asks the Department of Defense to look into Pinon Canyon 
expansion effort.

U.S. Rep. John Salazar has asked the Department of Defense to 
investigate the Army's efforts to acquire more land at the Pinon Canyon 
Maneuver Site.

The Colorado Democrat cited violations of federal law and a federal 
court decision in a letter this week to Inspector General Gordon S. Heddell.

Federal laws in the past three years have been signed by Presidents 
George W. Bush and Barack Obama that prohibit the use of any funds 
toward any action that promotes the expansion of Pinon Canyon in 
Southeastern Colorado.
