NPS bans fishing at Del Monte Lake By KEVIN HOWE Monterey Herald (CA) July 21, 2010No-fishing signs went up around Del Monte Lake on the Naval Postgraduate School campus early this month in response to safety concerns, said NPS spokesman Alan Richmond. The pond had been fished by people with access to the campus for years. But the possibility of toxic deposits from storm drains contaminating fish and the possibility of drownings spurred the Navy to close it to fishing and swimming, he said. ...
