Joint Land Use Study with Camp Roberts forges ahead By Josh Petray Paso Robles Press (CA) October 12, 2010First District San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Frank Mecham and Lt. Col. George A. Leone, DPTMS Camp Roberts/Commander 79th BSTB and city officials in Paso Robles were among those to come out in support of a new study that would protect the ways of life on both Camp Roberts and its surrounding areas. It's called a Joint Land Use Study [JLUS], and in late September the city of Paso Robles forged ahead with its cooperation in participating in the plan with both the county and Camp Roberts when the city council voted unanimously to support adoption of a resolution supporting the study and appoint a council member to sit on a JLUS Committee. The council's decision represents the next step in what city officials said to address potential compatibility with surrounding military bases. ...
