Army Corp: No remnants found at former World War II bombing site Area near Padre Balli Park was used for divebombing target practice By Jessica Savage Corpus Christi Caller Times (TX) December 13, 2010CORPUS CHRISTI - An Army Corps of Engineers site inspection earlier this year of an area near Padre Balli Park used for World War II military glide and divebombing target practice revealed no active munitions or remnants from the training. A spokeswoman for the government said the inspection, which was completed earlier this year, is a part of a nationwide protocol to check areas once used for military defense training. ...
