National Academy of Science to review research on Fort Detrick
contamination, health effects
By Megan Eckstein Frederick News Post (MD) January 19, 2011Fort Detrick announced today that the National Academy of Sciences would review several reports that suggest environmental contamination at the Army post is not linked to local health problems. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry concluded in 2009 that any human exposure to groundwater contamination at Fort Detrick's Area B occurred "at levels unlikely to create any harmful health effects." ...
