Pioneer Press (MN) February 12, 2011The Ramsey County Board will consider jumping into the Minnesota Vikings' stadium hunt this week. A resolution on Tuesday will seek authority to negotiate with the team to build a new stadium on abandoned federal land in Arden Hills. ...County commissioner Tony Bennett, whose district includes the abandoned Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant, has long put forward a sliver of this property as a possible site. The site under consideration is a 430-acre parcel of the 2,400-acre site, known as TCAAP, which the federal government has offered for sale. The need for environmental cleanup and building demolition complicate the project. But the location is not far from I-35W and U.S. Highway 10 and there is ample land for a stadium, parking lots and for the type of related commercial and retail development that Vikings' owner Zygi Wilf is known for. ...
