Commissioners also vote to negotiate a sale for the rest of the property to Canyon Supply and Logistics By Sara Foley Corpus Christi Caller-Times (TX) February 17, 2011CORPUS CHRISTI - Port commissioners agreed to a last-minute compromise for redevelopment of the former Naval Station Ingleside that will split up the property. The port will sell a 600-foot, small-craft pier that's been a subject of debate and conflict in the past month to Flint Hills Resources and start exclusive negotiations to sell the remaining base property to Houston-based Canyon Supply and Logistics. That plan could keep part of the former base in the port's hands because Canyon can decide later whether it wants the college campuslike section of property. The compromise offer came to port officials Tuesday and offered $102.5 million for the property, not including the pier. The company initially offered $140 million for the entire property plus port- controlled land on Harbor Island and recently offered $110 million for just the base. ...
