Newark Aims To Go 'Green'

NEWARK, Ohio - The city of Newark was preparing to go green in a big way on Friday.

The Licking County community has launched a new initiative called Healthy, Green and Growing, 10TV's Josh Poland reported. A Brownfield area sits behind Shelly Linton's My Place Childcare Center. The site is nothing but an eyesore for the workers and the 130 children who spend each day next door.

City leaders hope to turn the abandoned area into 40 acres of solar panels that will produce energy.
