Hundreds attend Willow Grove planning meetings in Horsham

Nearly 600 people attended two identical planning sessions over the  
redevelopment of the Willow Grove Naval Air Station on Friday at the  
Horsham Community Center.

Held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the large  
crowds worked with land planning consultants to put some meat on the  
bones of what will become of the 892 acres once the military leaves.

While the event was chaotic at times, there were common themes in the  
first of two planning sessions held at the Horsham Community Center  
on Friday afternoon and evening.

The meetings were hosted by RKG and Associates who were hired by the  
Horsham Land Reuse Authority to develop a reuse "blueprint" that will  
eventually factoring in economic, traffic, environmental and other  
impacts of what represents about 8 percent of the township.
