Hampton moves to safeguard Langley Air Force Base

New planning changes around Langley Air Force Base that were backed  
by the Hampton City Council last week are intended to ensure an  
encroachment situation like that seen around Oceana in Virginia  
Beach, doesn't happen in Hampton.

Planning amendments to help safeguard the future of Langley Air Force  
Base were supported by the Hampton City Council last Wednesday.

Amendments to give planners better control over zoning issues close  
to the base were originally drawn up after the council approved the  
Hampton-Langley Joint Land Use Study in October 2010, and were  
recently backed by the Planning Commission.
