LEWISTON-PORTER SCHOOLS Corps testing finds no risk to campus By Richard E. Baldwin Buffalo News (NY) September 6, 2011LEWISTON - The Lewiston- Porter school campus is adjacent to former government plants that handled highly toxic TNT explosives and components of the atomic bomb during the World War II era, but recent tests show that there is no risk to human health or to the environment at the school buildings and grounds. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced: "The Lewiston-Porter School District property has been thoroughly tested, and no risk to human health and the environment was identified. As a result, there is no need for further investigations or action by the Corps of Engineers on the school district property." ...
