New Boston recreational area reopened by Staff Sgt. Patrice Clarke U.S. Air Force 50th Space Wing Public Affairs May 22, 2012NEW BOSTON AIR FORCE STATION, New Hampshire -- Department of Defense cardholders in the New Hampshire area can break out the hunting, fishing and camping gear as the recreational area on New Boston Air Force Station was recently reopened for use. The recreational area was limited to authorized users in 2008 in conjunction with the first Air Force unexploded ordnance remediation project. "Before 2008, the majority of the installation was open to all authorized DoD cardholders for hunting, fishing, camping and other recreational activities," said Jeffrey Oja, New Boston AFS restoration program manager. "The goal has always been to reopen all recreational activities to authorized cardholders once the UXO remediation was concluded." ...
