NEW BRIGHTON - Last Thanksgiving New Brighton resident Nick  
Halverson, 38, and three of his best friends from childhood were  
happy and healthy, busy with their young children, families and careers.

By January, two of those men had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.  
Around the same time Halverson began hearing about many other people  
he'd grown up with who also had cancer, several in their 30s and 40s.

Halverson, founder of St. Paul-based marketing firm Strategic  
Communication Partners, wanted to find out more, so he and a few  
others got together specifically to discuss these cancer incidences.
