Navy: Low-level radioactive soil found near IB Officials say no significant risk to public health By Jeanette Steele U-T San Diego (CA) March 20, 2013The Navy has found low-level radioactive material at a landing field near Imperial Beach, but a military official said the material doesn't pose a significant risk to public health. "The amount of material found was minimal and appropriate protection of the removed soil is in place to reduce wind erosion," the Navy said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
