Voters reject Fort Ord Measures K, M Salinas Californian November 6, 2013 | Dueling Fort Ord land use measures K and M both went down to defeat Tuesday. Results posted at 10:52 p.m. by the Monterey County Elections Office showed that “no” votes were carrying the day for Measure K with 61 percent to 39 percent for “yes” votes. Measure M “no” votes tallied about 54 percent to 46 for “yes” votes. Measure M would have permanently blocked development of about 540 acres of Fort Ord’s Parker Flats area. Measure K would have blazed a path for the controversial Monterey Downs development.
