Developer expects earlier start to Treasure Island work Land could transfer soon, developer says by J.K. Dineen San Francisco Chronicle (CA) May 24, 2014 Development could start on Treasure Island sooner than expected.Even as the Navy gears up to conduct radiation contamination tests under all the homes on the island, developer Lennar, along with Wilson Meany, is hopeful that the eastern end of the island, along with all of Yerba Buena Island, could be transferred to the city by the end of the year. That would set the stage for the land to be handed over to the developer team and for work to begin. Lennar was in court this week facing off against the group Citizens for a Sustainable Treasure Island, which sued the city and developer, arguing that the environmental review did not fully describe the scope of the project or its impact on Bay Bridge traffic. ...
