Chesapeake votes to buy land near Fentress air strip

CHESAPEAKE - The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to use city  
and state funds to buy property near the Fentress Naval Auxiliary  
Landing Field to prevent encroachment.

Under the program, property owners could apply to the city to buy  
their land or purchase easements restricting development rights.
