Officials: TCE Test Misleading Positive Reading Not ‘Vapor Intrusion’ By Maggie Cassidy Valley News (NH) February 5, 2015 Hanover - The testing schedule for a potentially carcinogenic compound inside Richmond Middle School will resume to normal after officials said they are confident that a positive test last month was no more than an aberration. The trace amounts of trichloroethylene, or TCE, detected in the school during planned testing on Martin Luther King Jr. Day were discussed Wednesday night by a board made up of officials from the Army’s Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, community members and other parties knowledgeable on hazardous waste remediation. Officials on Wednesday night said that a second test came back negative for the chemicals.
