Resident asks that all Pease wells be shut down Smith and Harrison wells have low levels of PFC contaminants By Jeff McMenemy Seacoast Onilne April 27, 2015PORTSMOUTH — The woman who led the effort to force the state to make blood testing available for everyone who was exposed to contaminated water is now calling on the city to consider shutting down the two remaining wells at the Pease International Tradeport. Andrea Amico, whose two children attend day care at the former Pease Air Force base, sent an email to several city officials Sunday asking them to “please consider shutting down the two remaining wells at Pease. ”“Pease is a Superfund site and there was significant contamination when it was an active Air Force base,” Amico wrote in her email to city officials. ...
