Firefighters seek workers' comp due to Pease well water By Jeff McMenemy Seacoast Online (NH) July 29. 2015 PORTSMOUTH - Fire Chief Steven Achilles confirmed firefighters who were exposed to water from a contaminated well at the Pease International Tradeport have begun filing workers compensation claims with the city. Achilles said the department has “supported and recommended” that firefighters exposed to the contaminated city-owned well file the claims if their blood test results came back with “an elevated level.” “We’re concerned about the potential for on-duty related illness or injury due to the elevated levels,” Achilles said Wednesday.
