Lawmaker: Groundwater contamination could halt Belvoir plan by Trevor Brown Wyoming News August 23, 2015 CHEYENNE - Concerns about groundwater contamination west of the city could jeopardize plans to develop the Belvoir Ranch, a state lawmaker says. Rep. Jim Byrd, D-Cheyenne, said he is in the early stages of working with a group, Friends of Belvoir Ranch, to put hiking and equestrian trails and other recreational activities on the city-owned property. But he said the slow process of removing a potentially dangerous chemical from the water beneath the land could hinder the efforts. "This is an opportunity not to be passed up," he said.
