Resident calls for more blood testing at Pease By Jeff McMenemy Seacoastonline (NH) September 13. 2015 PORTSMOUTH – The local woman who spearheaded the successful effort to open blood testing for anyone exposed to contaminated city water at Pease International Tradeport now wants a study done on people not exposed to the contaminants. “I think we need a better local control group to compare to the Pease population of adults and children,” Andrea Amico said this week after state officials told a group of about 200 parents and city officials that levels of the contaminants in children’s’ blood was significantly higher than a group of Texas children who weren’t exposed to the contaminants. Amico believes the comparison would be more relevant if the blood test results were compared to a current study of children and adults from the Portsmouth area who weren’t exposed to what the Environmental Protection Agency are calling “contaminants of emerging concern.” ...
