Horsham redevelopment authority says water not stopping plans By Christopher Ellery Intelligencer (PA) June 28, 2016 Contaminated well water at the former Willow Grove Naval Air Station-Joint Reserve Base in Horsham won’t stop plans to redevelop the base for housing. But the issue will stall reuse until 2018, according to the Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority. When the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency updated its health advisory threshold for perfluorinated compounds on May 19, the land transfer from the Navy was pushed back two years, said Mike McGee, the authority’s executive director. The Horsham Water and Sewer Authority shut down two wells after this news organization reported in August 2014 that water leaving the base property had levels of perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) above 0.2 parts per billion.
