Congressmen press U.S. agency about why it won't OK blood tests for Bucks, Montgomery residents whose water is contaminated

A trio of local congressmen are pressing a federal agency for more answers about why it's not recommending blood tests for as many as 70,000 Bucks and Montgomery County residents.

That figure represents the approximate populations of Warminster, Warrington and Horsham, where potentially toxic perfluorinated compounds PFOA and PFOS have been found in drinking water in the past two years.

The request, presented in a letter signed by Congressmen Mike Fitzpatrick, R-8, of Middletown; Patrick Meehan, R-7, of Upper Darby; and Brendan Boyle, D-13, of Philadelphia; is the latest in a back-and-forth between local lawmakers and the federal government over the prospect of blood tests.
