CPEO/PSC To Move: Help Needed After four decades at three locations, the Pacific Studies Center, the parent organization of the Center for Public Environmental Oversight, is moving from downtown Mountain View to a smaller space across town. Rents here, in the heart of Silicon Valley, have risen enormously. We are donating over half of our 50-year old collection of files, books, and other documents to Stanford University and other academic libraries, but we are retaining materials that continue to be useful in our current work helping communities oversee environmental cleanup.
We expect overhead revenues from our current projects to diminish over the next few years, so we are seeking tax-deductible donations both to pay for the move and to defray our ongoing rent. It is our hope to raise $1,000 per month through this solicitation, either in lump sump donations or continuing pledges.
You can mail a check to the Pacific Studies Center, 278-A Hope Street, Mountain View, CA 94041, or donate via PayPal (including with major credit cards) at http://www.cpeo.org/donate.html
If you live in the area, we will also need help packing and unpacking books and reports, as well as office furniture. Please let me know if you can help.
Please excuse the duplicative postings.
