U.S. Senators push for investigation into water contamination near bases KOAA TV-5 News(COO) September 5, 2017 A team of seven democratic senators, including Colorado's Michael Bennet, penned a letter to the Senate Appropriations Committee Tuesday pushing for an investigation into water contamination near military installations and airports. The letter also demanded the Department of Defense clean up areas affected by contamination from PFC chemicals contained in firefighting foams used at military bases and airports.
