Mashpee District, Air Force Hashing Out Well Contamination MOU

The Mashpee Water District and the US Air Force are working to complete a memorandum of understanding to mitigate a contaminated municipal well near Mashpee Village.

The operations manager for the Mashpee water district, Andrew G. Marks, said that as of yesterday, he has signed the water district’s half of the memorandum. The Air Force has yet to do so.

Rose H. Forbes, remediation program manager for the installation restoration program at Joint Base Cape Cod, said that she is currently in the works to secure funding for a filter for the well and awaiting management signature for the memorandum.
