$30M to clean National Guard toxic armories in Senate plan By Rob Davis Oregonian/OregonLive November 29, 2017 Toxic armories nationwide would receive a $30 million boost for removing lead contamination under the U.S. Senate's 2018 defense spending bill. The spending increase, part of a $581 billion Pentagon authorization bill, would aid the National Guard's effort to remove dangerous lead dust in armories across the country, a problem revealed in a 2016 investigation by The Oregonian/OregonLive.
