Portsmouth wants EPA to test for additional PFCs at Pease

PORTSMOUTH - Mayor Jack Blalock sent a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency asking them to test the city’s water at the former Pease Air Force Base for other PFCs that are not now being tested for.

“We would greatly appreciate your assistance in knowing as much about this contamination as possible,” Blalock said in a letter to Timothy Watkins, the director of the EPA’s National Exposure Research Laboratory.

Andrea Amico, a Portsmouth resident and co-founder of Testing for Pease, said they have been working with the city to find out if there’s other potentially dangerous PFCs in the water that the city is not testing for.
